Keoti Fort is a famous tourist places in Rewa city of Madhya
Pradesh. Keoti Fort is a historical fort. This fort is very close to Keoti
Falls. You can reach this fort only on foot from Keoti falls. The fort of Keoti
is ancient. Most part of this fort has turned into ruins. You can go for a roam
in this fort.
The fort of Kyoti is spread over a very large area. This
fort is built in a very beautiful way. In this fort you get to see the
beautiful valley of Mohana river. Mohana river flows from this valley and

to go down to the valley on the back side of the fort. You can go to the valley

the caves. Here you reach the bottom of the valley. Here you get to see the
rocks from which the water flows. This water naturally flows through the rocks
and looks very beautiful. Here a small tank has been made to stop the water.

Inside the kyoti fort one will get to see a kolu. Kolu was
an ancient oil extraction technique. In this technique, a bull was rotated in a
circular shape and whatever object from which the oil was to be extracted was
put in the center of the circle. A black cloth was tied around the bull's eyes
so that the bull's not dizzy. The bull was rotated in this circle from which the
oil came out. That oil was collected.
You can come comfortably to Kyoti Fort. Here you can reach by bike and car. Here you will get to see a very grand entrance. Very beautiful carvings have been done in this entrance. Here you get to see artifacts made on stone. Kyoti Fort is also known as Keoti Garhi. If you go inside from the entrance then you will get to see the Durbar Hall here and you will get to see the rooms. Here you will get to see the big turrets in which you can go and see the view all around. No fee is charged for entering the fort of Kyoti. you can roam here comfortably.

History of Kyoti Fort
The history of Kyoti fort is very interesting. The fort of
Kyoti is built near Keoti waterfall on the banks of river Mahana in Rewa
district. This fort is historically important. This fort is also full of
natural beauty.
Kyoti fort was built by Nagmal, son of Maharaja Shalivahan
of Rewa in the 15th century. There is a rectangular room at the entrance of the
fort, which was used as Diwan-e-Aam.
The first part of this fort has a beautiful entrance and it
was used as a Diwan-e- aam. Kyoti fort is important contribution in the 1857
revolution. Here 1857 Thakur Ranmat Singh had a fierce battle with the British
Colonel Aswan in the fort in which a large number of British were killed.
This fort is of great importance as a witness to the freedom
struggle of 1857. The fort is preserved by the Archaeological Department.

Who built Keoti fort
Kyoti fort was built by Nagmal, son of Maharaja Shalivahan
of Rewa in the 15th century. According to some people, this fort was built in
the thirteenth century. This fort has been rebuilt by different rulers over
time. In the present, this fort has been repaired by the Archaeological
Department.
